This Talkshop introduces you to the world of Design Thinking, which will help you reveal useful insights into user behaviour to design, prototype and get feedback on your ideas.
The design thinking mindset and approach is rooted in empathy – imagining the world from different perspectives, taking a “people first” approach to understand explicit or latent needs. It’s these insights that inspire useful, practical solutions. Coupled with this is an inherent bias towards action – through learning from others, creative collaboration, rapid experimentation and constant iteration.
The session outlines how to use the design thinking toolkit:
• Building empathy: by focusing first and foremost on users, you can design solutions and experiences that are most likely to have a practical, actual benefit.
• Framing problems: how to create a problem statement that you can use as the basis to generate ideas for potential solutions.
• Ideation: how to generate as many ideas as possible for a wide variety of potential solutions.
• Prototyping: how to quickly and effectively test your idea to see how people react to it.
• Testing: for criticism as well as validation – critical feedback will help you make improvements to your ideas.
You'll learn how to apply these techniques by working on a live scenario with other participants.

The informality of our workshops enables participants to relax, express themselves freely and find common ground with others. This lends itself perfectly to ideation and team-building by encouraging positive interactions and idea sharing.
We're glad you asked! Simply put, a Talkshop is a cross between a talk and a workshop. They're short, punchy, thought-provoking sessions. We take a key concept and explain it clearly, then help your team explore it together to understand how it can help them in their work.
